Tourism is Sweden’s new basic industry. According to the tourist industry’s prognosis the turnover from tourism will double its value until 2020. But what will happen in our changeable world in 10 years? The prognosis is positive, but how will we get there? Communication with our future consumers is crucial in order for us to succeed. It is very much about investing in the quality and the availability that international visitors demand and trying to understand the needs of the future consumer.

The purpose is to get more satisfied guests, more profitable companies and a society which can prosper from tourism. The method builds on the quality assurance system of Scotland and New Zealand. Christian Åberg from the West Sweden Tourist Board, presents the basics of the system, Robert Cullen from VisitScotland tells us more about the testing procedure of companies and Michael Ahlerup, CEO at Astrid Lindgrens Värld shares his experiences from being tested.
